Have you been by the Newark Library in the past two weeks? If not, we have a beautiful new addition to our decor. We recently unveiled our new statue of two children reading in the Children’s Area of the branch. It was donated to the Library by Cargill Salt, Citizens of Newark, City of Newark, The Newark Library League, The Newark Optimist Club, Rotary Club of Newark and private donors. It is designed so that children can sit on the bench alongside the bronze children and have their picture taken. We also have a beautiful picture of the Lake in Newark, curtesy of Al Nagy, which makes the statue feel as if it is sitting outside in the summertime.

Comment by pm Saturday, May 10, 2008 @ 3:31 pmMy family and I visit the Newark Library regularly. We are very grateful to the Newark Library staff for providing the wonderful resources that we love. All of us love to read and enjoy our visits to the library. During our last visit, my kids and I were thrilled to see the new statue. It is very appropriate for the library and goes well with the other bronze statues at the Silliman Center. Newark is a great place to be in. Thankyou to the artist who created these statues.
