About

Newark Library, a branch of the Alameda County Library, serves the 43,753 residents of the City of Newark. The City of Newark enhances service by contributing funds for additional library open hours. The 15,000 sq. ft. Newark Library was designed by architect Aaron Green and opened to the public in 1983. The design includes special areas for preschoolers, school age children, teens, adults, and seniors.

The Newark Library is located (map) at the far end of the Civic Center complex, off Newark Blvd., just south of Thornton Ave.
