Chinese New Year Craft

2012 is the Year of the Dragon! Join us in celebrating Chinese New Year on Saturday, January 28 at 3 p.m. by making a Pull-Along Dragon out of paper cups. Younger children will need an adult to help. No registration is necessary. Free children’s crafts are sponsored by the Newark Library League.

Thanksgiving Crafts

Finding you have nothing but homework to do? Old enough to draw an outline of your hand and use scissors? Well, take a break on Saturday, November 19th at 3 p.m. and we’ll show you how to decorate your own Thanksgiving Turkey.

Before you do that, come to the Newark Library this Saturday, November 12th at 3 p.m. and learn to do sculpting with tools and clay just like the grown-ups do. This workshop is just for kids though. You’ll be able to make your own—anything! Just imagine it!

Poetry – the big Newark Library Open Mic Nite is coming soon. Bring what you’ve written and share it with a larger community. We get lots of variety and all of it is well-received at Open Mic Nite. We will host this teen event next Tuesday night, 11/15/11 at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room. Teen Advisory Group hosts a Fall Mixer for Teens

Imagine that! Newark Library TAG will be hosting a fun Fall Mixer with sweet activities involving lots of sugar and music and pizza! You need to register for this after-hours event to be held on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. so call in early or email khannon@aclibrary.org to get on the list. We are limiting the number of teens who can come to 25, just so ya’ know.
