The Art IS Education theme “Creating a Better Future Together” encourages kids to explore how they can promote sustainability through the arts. In the book Watch Out World—Rosy Cole is Going Green!, Rosy and her friends create “Nature’s Gifts” to sell at a fundraiser to green their school by transforming rocks, sea shells and driftwood into art. But a visit to the American Museum of Natural History inspires the girls to include live critter habitats in their booth. Could these creepy crawlers ruin Rosy’s dreams of having the best booth at the fundraising fair? Read the book to find out what happens and to get tips on setting up your own composting worm farm.

Visit a museum. Check out our Discover & Go program for free passes to the Bay Area Discovery Museum, the Oakland Museum, the Exploratorium, and many more.
