About 25 kids turned out for our Butterfly Note Clip craft on Saturday, May 21st. Each child decorated his or her own butterfly, making each one unique. See for yourself in the photos below.

*Teen Volunteers for Reading Programs
Teens 13-18 only. One-on-one reading assistance. For application form, click on picture.
We are looking for enthusiastic teens 13—18 years old who can provide a positive and encouraging attitude towards reading to or reading with children. You must be responsible, reliable, and committed to your session throughout the program’s duration. Orientation is Wednesday, June 8 from 4-5 p.m.

* KidPower Volunteers
For kids entering 7th grade on up. Help other kids play Summer Reading Game and/or be an assistant for summer events. Orientation is on Saturday, May 28th in the Meeting Room at 2 p.m. For application form, click on picture.
Check your calendar and have the days and times you are available ready as you will be choosing your work shifts. Each shift is 2 hours long, you may not work more than 4 hours in one day. Each person will be working with one other person during each shift.
Complete an application form, make sure you have your parent or guardian sign in the permission section if you are under 18, and turn it into the Newark Library Information Desk during open hours, currently Tuesdays and Thursdays , 1 – 9 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
