Looking for some local places to take your kids? How about Ardenwood Farm in Fremont? They have a lovely trail around the actual farmyard, and there are events almost every weekend. You can learn about blacksmiths (and buy a real horseshoe) about the farm animals and how the farm works. Plus, the entry fee is very minimal and parking is free. Right now they have a pumpkin patch and tractor rides. For more information about the park, check their website: http://www.ebparks.org/parks/ardenwood.
Looking for a beautiful park to visit? How about Sunol or Coyote Hills? Both are lovely in their own way and offer plenty of trails for all levels of walkers/runners/bikers. At Sunol you can even walk up to Little Yosemite, which is a beautiful waterfall, reminiscent of the real thing but much closer to home.

Did you know that there are passes available to go to museums for free? Alameda County Library branches have passes to the Asian Art Museum, Bay Area Discovery Museum (Sausalito) and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Check out varies from branch to branch – contact your local branch for details. To check out a pass you will need a current library card and will need to leave a current phone number. Passes generally go out for one week and can be used multiple times during the week. Each pass allows a different number to attend for free.
