Parents, caregivers and toddlers are invited to our new round of Toddler Art classes. Toddler Art occurs once a month on the third Friday of the month unless otherwise noted. We will play with paints, markers, crayons and makeshift art toys, explore new art techniques designed for small hands, and most of all just have fun! We do often make a mess so please wear clothing that can get dirty (both adults and children!) Tomorrow we will show you how much fun you can have while playing with your food (we will not have snacks however – we are just going to play with our food).

Friday Sept. 19th, 12-12:30 p.m.

Everyone interested in Lego Club – we’re announcing next week’s theme a little early so you can plan which Lego’s you would like to bring along on Thursday night. Next week we will be building everything pirates! Pirate ships, treasure island, protected forts, hideouts, parrots, etc. Use your imagination and come up with some great new designs! Hope to see you there!

As always, we will provide a light snack during Lego Club. Also, if there is a parent who would like to be responsible for overseeing the Lego Club, please contact Mary Ayers at (510) 795-2627 ext 15 or e-mail mcayers@aclibrary.org. This is not a paid position and would only entail overseeing the actual Lego Club meetings once a month at the library. We will still provide snacks and themes for the evening, but we are looking for a responsible adult to supervise during the program. Thank you.

Starting Thursday September 11th from 6:45-7:45 pm the Newark Library will host a new book program. Each month we will highlight a book, a series of books, an author or an illustrator. We will read a short selection of the work and then we will have a snack and do some crafts all tying in with the night’s theme. This will help parents and children learn to enjoy books together and also show what you can do to make reading more enjoyable.
