I just finished one of our new children’s books, Savvy, by Ingrid Law. I thought it was a wonderful read and thought I’d share with everyone. The characters are compelling and the plot moves along at a quick pace.
Mibs Beaumont is about to turn 13, an important age in every young person’s life, but especially to a Beaumont. When you’re a Beaumont, 13 is the lucky year when you discover savvy. And when your grandfather can move mountains, your older brothers can conduct electricty and create hurricanes, turning 13 is a scary prospect. The day before Mibs 13th birthday, her father is in a terrible car accident. She and her younger siblings are supposed to stay at home and await news, but instead they find themselves on a carzy adventure as they try to find a way to reach their father.
